We have Red Cross Certified instructors located throughout Saint Petersburg who can come directly to your pool or a nearby community pool to teach swimming lessons. If you don’t have a pool to use, that’s okay too! Our instructors offer their own pools as a location for lessons as well.
What Types of Swimming Lessons Do We Offer?
We offer several different types of swimming lessons with options for kids and adults of all experience levels. Our programs include:
Infant Swim Lessons
We offer 2 types of infant swim classes for children under the age of 2, a “Mommy & Me” fun swim class where parents are allowed in the water with their child during the lesson and an “Instructor & Baby” class where just the instructor will teach the baby various water skills:
- Entering & Exiting the Pool Safely / Introduction to “Monkey Walking” Pool Walls
- Blowing Bubbles and Submerging
- Back Floats & Front Floats with Support
- Changing Direction with Support
- Swimming on the Front with and without Support
- Swimming on the Back with and without Support
Learn to Swim Program & Private Swim Coaching
This class is available for toddler swim lessons and for children swim lessons. It spans 4 levels and takes beginners from the very basics, such as entering and exiting the pool independently, to advanced skills like freestyle and backstroke. We will also focus on safety drills, such as a “Fall Test” where we teach the child to fall into the pool, turn around and grab the pool wall. If your kids already know how to swim and are hoping to improve existing skills, stroke refinement in a private coaching atmosphere is available. The swim instructor will work one-on-one with the child to help master difficult strokes and techniques.
Adult Swim Lessons
Did you know that according to a recent study by The American Red Cross, half of the American population can’t swim? If you’re an adult and would like to learn, our adult swimming lessons are just what you need. Your swim instructor will help you become comfortable in the water as you strive to reach goals including breath control, buoyancy, movement and more. If you’re already comfortable with basic swimming skills, your private swimming instructor can help you polish and perfect your technique. Looking to moisten up your current work-out routine? We also offer private water aerobics classes as a refreshing and fun work-out.

Florida Swim Company makes scheduling swim lessons a breeze! Simply, fill out our online registration and look out from an email from our scheduling department to schedule your swim lessons. Once you are satisfied with your swim schedule, we will book your instructor and relay them your information so all you have to do is wait for their arrival to start swimming! You will be provided your instructor’s photograph, biography of experience and certifications, and personal cell phone number. So if you need to get a hold of your instructor, you will be able to!

Tiara
Tiara has always had a passion for people and water activities. She swam competitevely in high school and stayed active in college by participating in water aerobics and teaching swim classes at the YMCA. This experience led her to ensure that she builds meaningful relationships with her clients to enhance their learning experience by teaching it in a way the client can comprehend. Tiara has her B.S. in Family Science. She has been teaching swim lessons for 7 years and life guarding for 8. Tiara is YMCA certified in Lifeguarding/ Swim Lesson Instructor /AED/CPR/First Aid/Emergency Oxygen.
