Looking for a fun activities to do with your mom friends? Florida Swim Company offers private “Mommy & Me” style swim classes. Classes can have up for 4 Parent/Child pairs in the water with an instructor – making this activity super affordable! Classes are only $70/Lesson – which can be split between families. This hour long class involves parents in the water with their child and the swim instructor. We’ll assist you in teaching your little one different aquatic skills. This is a more laid back approach to swim lessons focused on creating a positive association with the water. We use game, toys, songs and other fun activities to introduce your baby to the water. All activities are voluntary and include:
- “Monkey Walking” on the Pool Walls
- Bubble Blowing & Voluntary Submerging
- Back Floats & Front Floats with Support
- Swimming on Front & Back with/without Support

If you prefer to stay out of the water, this class is right up your alley! You can watch from the sidelines while the instructor introduces different aquatic skills to your infant including:

Tips for Baby Swim Lessons in Clearwater

- The warmer the pool temperature, the more comfortable the child is. This is especially important for infants! The pool is required to be above 82 degrees, but we recommend over 85 degrees for children under 1 years of age.
- Swim shirts or rash guards are suggested for infants during swimming lessons. The added layer helps keep them warm.
- We ask that parents keep a positive attitude in the water with us. Your mood is very important during a swim lesson – when you are able to stay calm and encouraging, this energy directly transmits to your child. We ask that anytime your child has even the smallest victory, praise them!
- Keep pool time fun! During family pool time, practice skills and cues in-between fun pool activities. Children are more willing the participate when in a good mood.
- Learning to swim is no different than learning to walk – sometimes children do regress. This is completely normal! We ask parents to have parents with their child’s progress.
